Dr. Karin L. Ciance, DNP, RN
Oxford Who’s Who has inducted Dr. Karin L. Ciance into the highest Professional Distinction “Top Tier of Excellence Lifetime Achievement Recognition” due to her outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of Community Health Nursing. She has displayed her vast expertise in the field of Nursing including her proficiency in Urgent Care, Staff Training and Development, Community Health, as well as Falls Prevention. In addition, Karin enjoys sharing her knowledge of the Nursing Profession with others. She is a passionate advocate of the nursing profession and has spoken with more than 300 students in the Worcester Public School System proving her dedication to her community Dr. Ciance is one of few special honorees distinguished based on her professional accomplishments, academic achievements, years of service, and the credentials she has provided. In the future, Dr. Karin Ciance hopes to make an impact on the lives of many more patients, and to continue to be a knowledgeable source and mentor in the field of Nursing.
Dr. Ciance is an Assistant Professor at Anna Maria College, a private co-educational institution that was founded by the Sisters of St. Anne in 1946. She has more than 31 years of experience in nursing including medical-surgical, rehabilitation, urgent care, women’s health, and management. She received her Diploma in Nursing from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Worcester State College, a Master’s of Science in Community Health Nursing from Worcester State College, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Walden University. Dr. Ciance has served as Adjunct Faculty and Faculty Mentor for several local colleges and universities including Worcester State University, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and Atlantic Union College. She is the Executive Director for Greenwood Street Medical Clinic in Worcester, Massachusetts. As a full-time member of the nursing faculty at Anna Maria College, Dr. Ciance teaches in both the traditional BSN and online RN to BSN nursing programs. Dr. Ciance was inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society from Walden University in 2014. Her affiliations include the American Nurses Association, the National League for Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau and is the elected Vice President of IOTA Phi Chapter at large. Her current interests lie in fall prevention, and community health, but in her leisure time, she enjoys camping, hiking and sewing.
