Other patients realize they want to learn more about themselves. They might want to know more about why they always seem to end up in relationships that don't meet their needs, in spite of past efforts to change. This can be accomplished in more intensive therapy or psychoanalysis. It is frequently the next step, after people come to learn how their life choices and ways of navigate in the world are less than optimal or sometimes destructive.
