Ms. Laura Brinkley, APN, MSHCA provides her expertise in the oversight of daily operations, program management, inpatient management, patient safety and helping to mentor nursing students and advanced practice nurses.
:Presently, Ms. Brinkley is Nurse Practitioner and Manager at Gibson Orthopedics Pain Treatment and Cardiology Clinic. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations, program management and in-patient management of the clinic and also mentors student nurses and advance practice nurses. She holds an Adult Nurse Practitioner certification and an Orthopedic Nurse certification. She has a Bachelor degree in Nursing, a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Administration and is also an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN). Her career in healthcare began at the Jarmen Hospital in Tuscola, Illinois. Two years later she took on the role of Manager of the gym unit of McKinley Health Center at the University of Illinois where she worked for ten years. Before taking on her new title as Nurse Practitioner for Matric Medical doing home exams for Medicare Advantage patients, she also worked as an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner at the Carle Clinic Association in Champaign. In order to keep up with the latest advancements in the industry, Laura maintains affiliation with the National Association of Clinical Providers, National Association of Professional Women, National Association of Orthopedic Nurses and the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nurses. Driven by the joy of helping patients, Laura's goals for the future are to continue working until she is seventy so she can retire and travel
